Healing With Intention

The mind-body connection is simply beautiful. Your unique energetic imprint allows you the grace to be able to move through emotions with more clarity and ease, especially when you know what and how to move through. That is where healing with intention comes into play! In the medical realm, there are specific teachings on how you can manage emotions and treat traumatic stress in two different ways: regulate them from the top down or from the bottom up. So, how do you learn how to do that? Let’s make this simple!

TOP DOWN: Think of being your HIGHER SELF— you’re sitting on your thrown and monitoring all that is happening within you, especially focusing on your body’s sensations. This is where mindfulness, meditation, and Yoga can all be impactful in your life. Utilizing these tools to be able to tap into your body’s sensations will allow you the pleasure of seeking what you may or may not be looking for: FEELING IN YOUR BODY! I especially love going to a Yoga class where the teacher allows you to free flow during parts of class, inviting you to listen to your body. When you allow yourself this space to shift to the sensations that are arising within, that is where the magic happens. You’re attuning to your body, listening and feeling for what it needs, noticing the sticky parts of your body that may need more love, and flowing with your breath. Begin to invite NOISE in your practice, as that can and will amplify your body’s sensations. Whether it is humming, audible cleansing exhales, clacking, or any other sound that wants to be expressed ~ invite it all, as this will help energy flow through your Higher Self.

BOTTOM UP: Think of your NERVOUS SYSTEM that is stored within your Higher Self. Bottom up healing is through impacting your physiology! There are two main branches of your nervous system, and we are going to focus on an aspect of your Peripheral Nervous System called your Autonomic Nervous System (ANS). This is where you learn to hack your nervous system using your breath, movement, or touch. Slow paced breathing is something that can help shift your physiology, as it’s comparable to taking your nervous system to the gym. All you have to do is mindfully ** breathe slowly. ** Learning how to control your breathing will help you shift from an overactive nervous system (where you are in a Sympathetic state) and it allows you to tap into your your Parasympathetic Nervous System. Practicing slow paced breathing on a regular basis of 5-10 minutes a day can help foster mental clarity and improve your cognition. This helps amplify your wellbeing and overall vitality!
