Bay Area Musts

 Alright, truth be told - it’s been 5 years since I lived in Oakland, but I wanted to put together some of my favorite places and things to do that I remembered. I just want to say thank you Hayley for sparking the inspiration within me to be able to share the things that I loved the most when I was living in the Bay Area! There truly is so much to the Bay Area, and I know that I’m leaving out quite a bit — but these are truly some of my absolute favorites!

Hiking

-       Marin Headlands > Point Reyes Hiking (the views here are incredible!!)

-       Alamere Falls (hiking to a waterfall.. I mean it’s beyond epic!)

-       Stinson > Steep Ravine Trail (such a great hike!!)

-       Redwood Regional Park

-       Joaquin Miller Park

 

Beach

-       Muir Beach (nude beach that locals participate in)

-       Baker Beach

 

San Francisco

-       The Mill (cute vibe and bread is delicious; vibey area)

-       Fort Mason State Park

-       Punchline Comedy Bar

-       Mission Dolores Park

-       Moma

-       The French Spot (delicious pastries)

-       Tartine Bakery- most delicious place on earth

-       Jane the Bakery- can you tell I love bakeries?

-       Lombard Street

-       Painted Ladies

-       Haight Street

-       Waterbar restaurant, happy hour is great!

-       Swensen’s – best ice cream

-       Lands End - nature is so healing, especially here!

-       Za Pizza

-       West of Pecos – mezcal drinks are fire

-       Foreign Cinema – a MUST

-       Marnee Thai Resturatant – drool!

-       Yoga = Love Story Yoga; soulful place! Enjoyed a class with chanting!

 

San Francisco cute spots

-       Fort Point

-       Palace of Fine Arts

-       Golden Gate Overlook

-       Golden Gate Vista Point

-       Go to Sausalito

 

Epic dance

-       Dancing > Momo Labeau, follow @momolebeau

 

Oakland / Berkeley

-       Oakland Farmers Market by Lake Merritt (Saturday)

-       Oakland Drum Circle – Sat/Sun evening by Lake Merritt

-       Sunday Lake Merritt – lots of vendors pop up around the lake!

-       Burma Superstar - Oakland (whole area is a viiiiibe)

-       Cholita Linda

-       Arizmendi Bakery – delicious, esp the corn cranberry scone

-       Cheese Board Collective (Epic pizza)

-       Artichoke Pizza

-       Viks Chaat - Berkely

-       Mua Oakland (ambiance is great for dinner)

-       Elmwood is the cutest!!!

-       Ikaros Greek Resturant

-       Berkeley bagels – some of the best cream cheese

 

Thrifting / Consignment

-       Maribel on Lakeshore Ave

-       Consignment 1951 (designer)
